Draft Animal Management Plan 2017-2022

The District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula has released its draft Animal Management Plan 2017-2022 for public consultation. This is your chance to have a say about the management of dogs and cats in our Council area.

 

The draft Animal Management Plan can also be viewed at both Council Offices – 32 Railway Terrace, Cummins and 38 Washington Street, Port Lincoln from 10 August 2017. Written submissions will be received by Council until 5pm Thursday, 31 August 2017

 

Dog Registration

Dog owners are advised that all dogs over 3 months of age must be Registered by August 31, after which a late fee of $15.00 will apply. A penalty of $80.00 may be imposed for every 14 days that the dog is unregistered.

Concessions are available for persons in receipt of the following pensions:

  • Aged Pension
  • Disability Pension
  • Veteran's Affairs Pension

Your pension card must be presented at the time of registration.

Rebates will apply to desexed, microchipped, trained and working dogs. Proof will be required to claim this rebate.

Cat traps

Cat traps are available for use by people experiencing problems with stray cats. Please contact Council's General Inspector on 8623 0600.
