Permit to Alter a Public Road Reserve

A permit to Alter a Public Road Reserve is required for the following:

  • Electrical cabling
  • Indirect water services
  • Water pipes
  • Planting or removing trees / vegetation
  • Seed collection
  • Erecting structures
  • New driveways
  • Altering existing driveways
  • Stormwater outlets onto road reserve

Permit to Undertake Works on Land Under Council's Care & Control

A permit is required for the following works:

  • Indirect water services (Requires easement)
  • Water pipes (Requires easement)
  • Planting or removing trees / vegetation
  • Seed collection
  • Erecting structures
  • Stormwater outlets

Please note that removal of dead wood is not permitted.

Permit to Use a Public Road for Business Purposes

Special Event Permit

A Special Event Permit is required if you wish to use any Council or Community owned land to hold an event.

The event may require Public Liability Insurance showing coverage of a minimum of $10,000,000.

The application will be assessed by Council and a letter will be provided advising if the approval has been granted and any conditions that may need to be adhered to.

Footpath Stall Permit

A Footpath Stall Permit it required if you wish to use any Council owned footpath to host a stall.

Temporary Road Closure Permit

If you have an event which requires a temporary road closure, please complete an application and submit to Council.

Please note thatn temporary road closure most likely requires approval from other authorities.

Overdimensional or Overmass Load

All requests for Overmass/Over-Dimensional Load permits now go through the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) via their website www.nhvr.gov.au or by phoning general enquiries 1300 MYNHVR (1300 696 487).

Liquor Licences

If you are intending to host a party or organising an event where liquor will be sold, you are required to obtain a liquor licence. For more information or to apply online, please click here to access the Consumer and Business Services website. Council must be given the opportunity to comment on the application, and therefore requires notification in writing from the applicant providing the following details :

  • Nature of proposed event
  • Venue
  • Date and time
  • Hours of operation

Council will then provide comment to the OLGC regarding the application.
