Disability Access & Inclusion Plan

Disability Access & Inclusion Plan

Under the Disability Inclusion Act 2018 (SA), State authorities are required to develop their own Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIPs) to facilitate a community that is more accessible for, and inclusive of people living with a disability. The plan intends to provide opportunities to help people living with a disability both within the community, and those who visit the area, to contribute and feel welcome, have access to services, and participate in everyday activities.

In accordance with section 16(4) of the Act, Council undertook public consultation on the draft using via the website, placement of a public notice in the Port Lincoln Times, promoted the consultation on the local radio stations (Radio 765 5CC and Magic 89.9) and also included the consultation within Council’s own publication, ‘The Fortnightly Focus’ on 4 December which was promoted on Council’s facebook page.

The Plan was considered and adopted by Council at the meeting held 17 January 2024.
