LidStop Bin Clip Lids
Bin lid clips (Lidstop) are now available to purchase for all LEC residents!
Lidstop is a wheelie bin attachment that for $10.00 prevents the bin lid from flipping backward. Below is a list of benefits from using a clip:
- Automatic closure after the garbage truck empties and sets bin back on the ground, no more filling with rainwater!
- Adds resistance to the bin lid preventing bin lids from flipping backward, great for open areas and windy conditions
- Keeps out flies and insects
- Easily attaches to the handle of your wheelie bin, designed to flex and expand allowing bin contents to be emptied no hassle
- It's a set-and-forget product that never needs to be removed, except for easy unclipping when it's time to clean the bin
- Cable ties included for easy removal
These clips are now available for purchase from the Council offices at 32 Railway Terrace, Cummins or 38 Washington Street, Port Lincoln.
Please note that whilst the current use of bin clips has produced very good results, residents need to be mindful of the following possible limitations:
- The bin clips rely on weight to open the bin lid to empty the bin into the truck. The bins clips are not recommended for recycling bins as recyclables are generally light weight.
- Waste must not be jammed in with large bags, as large waste might have trouble emptying through a lid with restricted opening.
- Overtime, the bin clips might be less flexible and need replacement.
