Internal Emergency Plans
Disaster Recovery
The District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula and its community is now better prepared to manage disaster recovery thanks to a new Disaster Recovery Plan. Thanks to grant funding from the Local Government Association Research and Development Scheme, and with the support of the State Recovery Office the new plan supports the local Council and community to manage recovery from a disaster event.
The project evolved from the Council Strategic Plan 2016-2025, and from discussion with the State Recovery Office with the final plan accessible here.
Emergency Management Plan
Through the Local Government Association's 'Council Ready' program, Council have developed an Emergency Management Plan outlining the overall context in which Council participates in emergency management.
The Emergency Management plan will be supported by an internal Incident Operations Manual which will provide documentation to staff outlining their responsibilities and required actions prior to, during, and immediately after Council is asked to assist a control agency with an incident.
